Karachi Port Clearance Handled by Our Licensed Team

Al Fajar Shipping & Logistics manages customs clearance at Karachi Port Authority (KPT) and Port Qasim for China imports. Our PIFFA-licensed team files your Goods Declaration, pays applicable duties, and coordinates container release, while our Yiwu, China team manages the shipment from the factory end before it ever reaches Karachi.

Pakistan's Main Entry Point for China Imports, and Where Our Clearance Operations Run

Karachi handles the majority of Pakistan’s seaborne imports. Karachi Port Authority (KPT) and Port Qasim are the two terminals through which container shipments from China arrive. For any importer receiving goods by sea from China, Karachi is where the Pakistan side of the journey begins, and where customs clearance happens.

Al Fajar’s Karachi clearing operations run under our PIFFA registration at both KPT and Port Qasim. We file import Goods Declarations through WeBOC, pay customs duties and taxes on our clients’ behalf, and manage container release at both terminals. Our Karachi port team has established relationships with the relevant customs stations, port agents, and terminal operators, which matters when a consignment needs to move quickly or when an examination is called.

Karachi is Pakistan’s largest commercial city. Our clients here range from electronics traders in Saddar and Tariq Road to industrial importers in SITE Area, Korangi, and Landhi, businesses with consistent, high-volume import requirements from Chinese manufacturers.

Two Ports — One Team

Karachi Port Authority (KPT) and Port Qasim, Both Covered

Karachi has two main container terminals. Understanding which one your shipment arrives at matters because they are located in different parts of the city with different port procedures and terminal operators.

01

Karachi Port Authority (KPT)

Located at the western end of Karachi's waterfront, KPT is Pakistan's oldest and busiest port. Most general cargo and container shipments from China arrive here. KPT handles the majority of Pakistan's import container volume. Clearance at KPT involves the KPT Container Terminal and associated customs stations.

02

Port Qasim

Located approximately 35 km east of the city centre, Port Qasim is Pakistan's second major deep-water port. It handles a significant volume of containerised cargo, including bulk goods and project cargo. Some China-Pakistan shipping lines call Port Qasim rather than KPT, or both. Clearance at Port Qasim follows a similar process to KPT but through separate terminal operators.

Karachi's Import Community

The Karachi Importers Who Work With Al Fajar

Karachi’s commercial landscape is diverse. The importers we work with most consistently represent the city’s major trading and industrial sectors:

Electronics traders, Saddar, Tariq Road, and Orangi Town

High-frequency importers buying phone accessories, LED lighting, cable products, and consumer electronics from Shenzhen and Guangzhou. These buyers move regularly and need reliable port clearance on consistent cycles.

Pakistan’s oldest industrial zone houses manufacturers who import raw materials, machinery components, and production inputs from China. These are typically larger-volume, FCL-level consignments requiring clean documentation from the China side.

One of Karachi’s major industrial clusters, home to textile manufacturers, chemical processors, and food producers with China import requirements across a range of categories.

Tanneries, leather goods manufacturers, and garment exporters who import materials and accessories from Chinese suppliers to feed their own production.

Karachi is Pakistan’s distribution hub. Many importers based here are not end-users; they are wholesalers who clear goods in Karachi and distribute to retailers across Pakistan. Fast port clearance is a commercial priority for this segment.
