Who we are

This privacy policy applies to Al Fajar Shipping, a China-based agent for FCL sea freight. Our office is at Room 201, 2nd Floor, No. 8, Building 22, Jiangdong District 4, Yiwu, Jinhua, Zhejiang, China.

What information we collect

We collect only what we need to answer you and to handle a shipment.

• What you give us: your name, WhatsApp number, email address and company name.
• Your shipment details: cargo, CBM or weight, supplier city, destination country and port, container size and ready date.
• Documents for a booking: packing list, invoice, and consignee and supplier details.
• Your messages: what you write to us by form, email, WhatsApp or phone.
• Collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, referring page and time on page, through cookies and similar tools.

Please do not send passwords, bank cards or other payment details through the forms or by chat. We never need them to prepare a quote.

How we use it

We use your information for these purposes:

• to reply to your message and prepare your written quote (the main reason);
• to manage a booking: loading, China export documents, the China customs declaration and updates to you;
• to meet customs, tax, accounting and other legal duties in China;
• to keep the website secure and stop spam;
• to improve the website, using aggregated statistics;
• to send you service updates if you have worked with us. You can opt out at any time by replying "stop".

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising by other companies.

Who we share it with

Moving a container needs several parties. We share your information with them only as far as your shipment requires:

• Shipping lines and carriers: cargo, weight, volume and origin and destination, for the booking.
• China Customs and port or terminal operators: declaration and export document details.
• Trucking, loading and rail partners in China: pickup and loading instructions.
• Your own agent at destination: documents, if you ask us to send them.
• Service providers: website hosting, email, WhatsApp, and Google Analytics.
• Authorities when the law requires it.

We do not share your information with marketing companies or data brokers.

Transfers between countries

We work from China, and you may be anywhere. Your information is processed in China and may pass to carriers, agents and providers in other countries. We limit access to the people who need it, and we ask the parties we share with to protect it.

Cookies

This website uses small text files called cookies.

• Essential cookies make the site and forms work. They cannot be switched off.
• Analytics cookies show us which pages are useful, using Google Analytics. The data is aggregated.
• Advertising cookies: we do not use them on this website.

Where the law requires your consent, we ask for it in the cookie notice on this site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. How long we keep it

• Enquiries that did not become a booking: 12 months, then we delete them.
• Bookings and shipping records: as long as the shipment needs, and for the period that customs, tax and accounting rules in China require.
• Website analytics: in aggregate, for a limited period set in Google Analytics.

How we protect it

The website uses HTTPS. Only staff who need your information to do their work can reach it. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, Australia’s Privacy Act, South Africa’s POPIA, the UAE and Saudi data protection laws, and China’s PIPL may give you rights. In plain words, you can ask us to:

• tell you what information we hold about you;
• correct information that is wrong;
• delete your information, unless the law requires us to keep it;
• stop using it for updates and marketing;
• give you a copy, or stop or limit how we use it, where the law gives you that right.

Write to hemu@alfajarshipping.com. We reply within 30 days and do not charge for this. If you are not happy with our answer, you may contact the data protection authority in your country.

Children

This website is for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
