CHINA CUSTOMS DECLARATION
Export Customs Declaration in China. Filed Correctly, From Yiwu.
Every shipment leaving China requires an export customs declaration filed with China Customs (GAC). It
is a legal obligation, not optional. Most importers assume their supplier handles it correctly. Many suppliers don’t. The result: cargo held at port, shipment delayed, or financial penalties. Al Fajar files China export declarations from Yiwu, directly, in Mandarin, using the official Single Window platform. For any destination worldwide.

China Customs Declaration , In Plain Terms
A simple explanation of what is filed before your cargo leaves China and why accuracy matters.
What it is
A legal filing submitted to China Customs (GAC) before any cargo leaves China. It states: what the goods are, how many, what value, and where they are going.
Who files it
The exporting entity or their authorised customs broker. In practice: your Chinese supplier or their agent. Al Fajar files on behalf of the supplier when engaged.
What happens if it's wrong
Small documentation errors can create delays, additional costs, or inspection issues.
Customs holds the cargo for examination.
Penalty + back-payment of duties.
Full container inspection at destination.
Re-filing required, shipment missed.
7 Documents Required for China Export Declaration
All 7 must be accurate and consistent with each other. A mismatch between any two documents triggers a customs examination.
How Al Fajar Files Your China Export Declaration
Cargo received at our Yiwu facility
We collect goods from your supplier. Weight, carton count, and product specs are verified against the commercial invoice.
HS code confirmed
We classify every product line using the current China Customs tariff schedule. Misclassification is the most common cause of export delays, we catch it before filing.
Documents prepared
Commercial invoice, packing list, and customs declaration form are prepared by our team, in Mandarin, consistent with each other, and consistent with the actual cargo.
Electronic filing via Single Window
Declaration submitted through China's International Trade Single Window (2026 mandatory digital platform). Reference number issued within hours for standard cargo.
Customs examination (if selected)
Standard cargo: 1-3 working days, no physical inspection. If selected for examination: our team coordinates with the inspection officer on-site. No remote handling.
Release and vessel loading
Customs releases cargo for export. Container is loaded and sealed. We provide you with the declaration reference number and full document set.
Al Fajar Operational Insight: HS code misclassification is the single most common reason cargo gets held at a destination port. Your supplier files what they think is correct. The importing country's customs has a different view. The result: a full container examination that adds 5-15 days and significant cost. Our team verifies HS codes against the current China Customs tariff schedule before every declaration. If there's a classification question, we resolve it in Yiwu, before the container is sealed.

What Importers Ask About China Customs Declaration
Clear answers to the questions importers ask before shipping goods from China to Worldwide.
What is China customs declaration?
It is the legal filing submitted to China Customs (GAC) before any cargo leaves China. It states what goods are being exported, their value, HS code, quantity, and destination. Without it, no cargo can be loaded onto a vessel or aircraft. In 2026, all declarations are filed digitally via China’s Single Window platform.
Is customs declaration my supplier's responsibility?
Legally, yes, the Chinese exporter files the declaration. But many suppliers outsource this to low-cost agents who make errors. Al Fajar files directly, using our own licensed customs filing credentials, for all cargo we handle from Yiwu.
What is an HS code and why does it matter?
The HS (Harmonized System) code is a 10-digit number that classifies your product. It determines the export duty rate in China and the import duty rate at the destination. A wrong HS code can mean the wrong duty rate, a customs hold, or a penalty at either end of the journey.
Can you obtain a Certificate of Origin for us?
Yes. For shipments where the importer’s country has a preferential trade agreement with China, such as the ASEAN-China FTA, China-Australia FTA, or Pakistan-China CPFTA, we arrange the Certificate of Origin through the relevant issuing authority in Yiwu. This must be done before the shipment leaves China.
How long does China customs clearance take?
Standard general cargo: 1-3 working days from declaration submission. If selected for physical examination: add 3-7 days. Dangerous goods and controlled items: 5-10 working days, including MSA filing. Note: declarations expire after 72 hours; cargo must be loaded within that window.
Do you file declarations for cargo going to any country?
Yes. China export declaration is filed regardless of destination. Whether your cargo is going to the USA, South Africa, Australia, the UK, or any other country, the China-side filing requirement is the same. Al Fajar handles it for any destination.
Your cargo's China declaration is either correct or it isn't.
There is no 'close enough' in customs. A wrong code, a missing document, a weight discrepancy, any of them can hold your shipment at port for days. Tell us your supplier location, what you're shipping, and where it's going. We handle the declaration. You handle your business.
