SMART SHIPPING DECISION

Are you importing from China to an FTA country without a Certificate of Origin?

Once your shipment crosses 12–15 CBM, LCL stops making sense, especially after Pakistan CFS consolidation fees or destination port handling. Send us your CBM, supplier location, and destination. We send both FCL and LCL quotes so you can compare the real number. You may be overpaying import duty on every single shipment. Tell us your destination country, product type, and supplier location. We confirm FTA eligibility and arrange your CO, before goods leave China.

Document
What It Contains / Why It Matters
Required For
Commercial Invoice
Product name, quantity, unit price, total value, trade terms (FOB/CIF/DDP). Must reflect actual transaction price — not a discounted figure.
Required
Packing List
Per-carton breakdown: gross weight, net weight, dimensions, carton count. Verified against actual loaded cargo by our Yiwu team.
Required
HS Code Declaration
10-digit product classification code for China Customs. Wrong code = wrong duty rate + potential penalty at origin or destination.

FTA shipments

Controlled goods

WHO THIS IS FOR

Who Needs China Export Documentation Service

01

Importers new to buying from China

First shipment from a Yiwu supplier. You need all documents correct from the start, not a learning experience that costs you 15 days at the destination port.

02

Buyers shipping to FTA countries

If your country has a Free Trade Agreement with China, you may qualify for reduced or zero import duty. The CO must be prepared in China before departure.

03

Importers who had documentation problems

Cargo delayed, examined, or fined because of a document error. We take over document preparation, prepared by our team, not your supplier or their low-cost agent.

04

Freight forwarders needing a China doc partner

You manage the destination side for your client. We prepare and provide the complete China-side document set. Consistent quality on every shipment.

THE PROCESS

How Al Fajar Prepares Your Export Documentation

01

Cargo details received

You share product descriptions, HS codes (if known), supplier name, destination country, and shipment value. We confirm which documents are required for your specific cargo and route.

02

HS code verification

We classify every product line using the current China Customs tariff schedule. This determines export duty (if any) and confirms eligibility for FTA CO.

03

Commercial invoice and packing list prepared

Documents prepared by our team, consistent with actual cargo weight, quantity, and declared value. Both reviewed before submission.

04

Certificate of Origin applied for

If your destination country has an FTA with China, we apply for CO through the relevant issuing body in Yiwu (Yiwu Customs or CCPIT). This step must happen before goods are loaded.

05

Export licence confirmed (if required)

For controlled product categories, we confirm whether an export licence is required and coordinate the application. Controlled items shipped without licence face seizure at destination.

06

Full document set delivered

All documents, invoice, packing list, HS declaration, CO, and any additional certificates, delivered to you electronically before or immediately after vessel departure.

OPERATIONAL INSIGHT

Al Fajar Operational Insight: The Certificate of Origin cannot be obtained after the shipment leaves China. We see this every few months: an importer discovers their goods qualify for an FTA rate only after the container has already departed Ningbo. They pay full duty because the CO window is closed. For every shipment we handle, we check FTA eligibility before booking, not as an afterthought.

CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN — FTA SAVINGS

Are You Paying Full Duty
When You Don't Have To?

China has Free Trade Agreements with 30+ countries and regions. A Certificate of Origin — prepared in China before your goods depart — unlocks reduced import duty rates at destination.

If your goods left China without a CO, you cannot claim the FTA rate. The CO must be issued in China, before departure. There is no retroactive option.

FAQS

Export Documentation, What Importers Ask

Clear answers to the questions importers ask before shipping goods from China to Worldwide.

China-side support from Yiwu

A Certificate of Origin (CO) is an official document that certifies that goods were manufactured in China. It is required when the importing country has a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with China and the importer wants to claim a reduced or zero import duty rate. Without a CO, customs applies the standard duty rate, even if the goods qualify for a lower rate.

No. The CO must be issued in China before or at the time of shipment. Once goods have departed, the CO cannot be issued retroactively. This is the most costly documentation error we see; importers discover FTA eligibility only after the container has already shipped.

Certificates of Origin for trade purposes are issued by either the local Customs authority or the CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade). Al Fajar coordinates the application through the correct issuing body for your specific FTA.

It depends on the HS code of your product and the Rules of Origin under the relevant FTA. General goods manufactured in China typically qualify. Products using significant non-Chinese inputs may not. We verify FTA eligibility based on your HS code before applying for CO.

Your supplier typically provides a commercial invoice and packing list, often without independent verification of accuracy. Al Fajar verifies both documents against actual cargo, confirms HS codes, prepares the customs declaration, and arranges CO and any required certificates. We take responsibility for the complete document set.

Yes. For goods requiring an export licence, chemicals, certain electronics, dual-use items, and restricted materials- we confirm licence requirements before booking and coordinate the application. Controlled goods shipped without a valid licence are liable for seizure at the destination port.

READY TO SHIP FROM CHINA

Wrong documents cost more than correct ones.

A 15-day customs hold. A full container examination. Full duty on a shipment that qualified for an FTA rate. Tell us your destination, product, and supplier. We handle every document, correct, verified, before your cargo moves.
